Sales Executive

This is a great opportunity for a self-starter who wants to build up her/his own business. JD Supra is a leading provider of legal content publishing and distribution service that leverages the ubiquity and network effects of social media platforms to significantly expand the visibility of attorneys and their firms. JD Supra Sales Executives initiate and execute sales transactions of JD Supra services to prospective law firm clients. Sales Executives are responsible for defined geographic territory and utilize a variety of outreach methods including, but not limited to telephone, email and direct marketing. JD Supra provides Sales Executives with training, leads, marketing support and client services support so that our Sales Executives can focus their time and energy doing what they do best. Successful Sales Executives must be able to work independently with minimal supervision from remote locations within the greater San Francisco Bay Area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate and execute sales transactions to prospective clients within a defined geographic territory.
  • Qualify and electronically update all leads and contacts assigned to Sales Executive on a daily basis.
  • Apply time management skills in order to coordinate sales activities to appropriate territorial time zone.
  • Conduct professional sales calls via telephone and present/demonstrate JD Supra services via web conferencing.
  • Ability to effectively and concisely educate potential clients and partners on the value of JD Supra services.
  • Effectively drive and manage sales cycle including:
    • Qualification for business fit by reviewing prospective client website, legal publications, and current use of social media platforms;
    • Evaluation of JD Supra services by prospective clients;
    • Proposal development and presentation;
    • Guide client through purchasing process;
    • Negotiate mutually acceptable terms for client and JD Supra;
    • Close the transactions.
  • Maintain consistent, self-directed sales outreach.
  • Meet or exceed defined sales quota.
  • Meet required information input deadlines
  • Participate in regularly scheduled team sales update calls.

Desired Skills & Experience
  • 4 year degree from an accredited university/college or equivalent education, training and experience
  • 3+ years sales experience with at least 2 years experience in solution selling.
  • Enterprise sales experience selling content publication or marketing communications solutions to the legal industry is preferred, but not required.
  • Telephone sales experience

  • Self motivated with independent work skills.
  • Ability to work remotely and with limited supervision

Compensation

JD Supra Sales Executives are independent contractors who earn a commission on the sales they produce. All JD Supra Sales Executives receive training and an opportunity development period during which time the Sales Executive receives a guaranteed minimum commission. The ability to represent JD Supra is predicated on meeting or exceeding minimum monthly sales goals, and on demonstrating a professional, client-oriented approach to their work.
