The U.S. Energy Information Agency’s latest report of U.S. Natural Gas Exports and Re-Exports by Country reflects liquefied natural gas (“LNG”) exports and re-exports dating back to 1985. In 2013, the U.S. exported and re-exported a total of 2,924 Million Cubic Feet (Mcf) of LNG. The majority of that volume was re-exported LNG, which “are shipments of LNG to foreign countries that were previously imported, offloaded into above-ground LNG storage tanks, and then subsequently reloaded onto tankers for delivery to other countries.” The report reflects the total LNG exported from the U.S. in 2013 was 199 Mcf, which was exported by truck to Canada (71 Mcf) and Mexico (128 Mcf).
