Digital Health Companies Look Toward IPOs as M&A Stabilizes

Digital health funding in 2019 suggests more companies will be looking to go public or be acquired in the coming years, according to a report from seed fund and research firm Rock Health. The number of acquisitions of digital health companies in 2019 was about 40 percent below the high seen in 2015, the analysis said. But IPO activity surged as six digital health companies listed their shares, ending a three-year wait for a business in the sector to go public.

A new survey of nearly 1,500 Americans finds that only a small minority of people consider the religious affiliation of the hospitals that treat them, but a majority said they don't want religious doctrine determining their healthcare choices. The findings, published in the journal JAMA Network Open, show that only 6.4 percent consider the religious affiliation of the hospitals they choose, yet 71.4 percent said that care should not be impacted by religious dogma.
