340B in the Spotlight This Thursday: Congress Offers Webcast of Upcoming Hearing Regarding the 340B Drug Pricing Program

Thursday, March 5th at 10:00 a.m. EST, the House Energy & Commerce Health Subcommittee on Health will hold a hearing entitled, “Examining the 340B Drug Pricing Program.” The purpose of the hearing is to review the functionality of the program to understand how it impacts patients, providers, manufacturers, and other stakeholders. A webcast of this hearing will be posted on the House Energy & Commerce website available here.

Overview
This webcast offers the health care provider community and other 340B stakeholders a unique opportunity to hear the specific compliance issues and concerns that Congress has with the program, as well as the opinions and responses of those government agencies that have been administering and examining the 340B Program in recent years. Witnesses at the hearing include Diana Espinosa, Deputy Administrator of Health Resources and Services Administration, accompanied by CDR Krista M. Pedley, Director of the Office of Pharmacy Affairs; Debbie Draper, Director, Health Care, of the Government Accountability Office; and Anne Maxwell, Assistant Inspector General for Evaluation and Inspections, Office of Inspector General.
