A report published in the British Journal of Cancer examining a dramatic increase in deaths from larynx lung cancers that occurred in the first half of the 20th century. The authors examine several possible reasons for the increase in cancer deaths, including increased use of tobacco products, air or environmental pollution, and occupational exposure to toxic substances, including asbestos.
