I had a client who was concerned that either school officials or the police, without her knowledge or permission, might question her child at school about criminal matters.
I drafted this letter for the young person to carry with her at all times just in case. I also instructed her parents to tell the student that she should never answer questions put to them by school officials or law enforcement officers unless her parents were present. Hope you find this letter helpful. Feel free to write your own version for your children.
