The Louisiana Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG Louisiana) will hold its second annual Energy Case Cup Competition in October. Last year's inaugural competition included more than 100 undergraduate students from five different Louisiana universities competing against one another for the top prize. This year's competition is shaping up to be equally successful.

The competition is an annual case study competition designed to give juniors and seniors from Louisiana undergraduate programs real world experience and invaluable insights into the areas of mergers and acquisitions, investment banking, and financial advisory services. The event begins with an intra-school competition held at each participating university (Round 1) and concludes with a regional competition between the winning teams from each school (Round 2), which will be held at Tulane University on Friday, October 30, 2015.

The invited universities include: Tulane University, Louisiana State University, Loyola University, University of New Orleans, Xavier University, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and Southeastern University. Students at each university are responsible for forming teams of between two and five students.

Participants in the ACG Louisiana Energy Case Cup Competition will benefit from the experience in many ways, including:

  • Exposure to leading finance professionals and organizations in the community;
  • Opportunity to learn about corporate finance by analyzing a transaction from the perspectives of the owner, the buyer, the financial advisor, the equity investors, the debt providers, and the management team;
  • Networking with peers and local professionals; and
  • Potential cash and other awards:
       1st place: $2,000 and four Young ACG Memberships
       2nd place: $1,000
       3rd place: $500

ACG Louisiana, a regional chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), is a non-profit organization created to facilitate the networking of business professionals in Louisiana and the surrounding areas.
