The Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP) has developed a new CEQA reference website designed to provide detailed, authoritative, and easy to understand information on CEQA and CEQA compliance.  While the site went live in April 2016, it is still in the process of development; it can be accessed by going to www.califaep.org and clicking on the CEQA Portal logo.

The CEQA Portal site currently includes two useful tools:  (1) Topic Papers (prepared by a CEQA professional and vetted through review by three attorneys prior to posting); and (2) a CEQA Case Law Database (containing a list of more than 550 CEQA cases searchable by key words and CEQA topics, case summaries, and other features).  The site – which is intended as a “work in progress” with new tools and additional content being continually added – also lists its expert contributors and contains updates on newly added features.

Environmental consultant Craig Stevens, who has spearheaded development of the CEQA Portal, advises that the site can be accessed free of charge for a limited time, but anticipates that future use will require either a subscription or AEP membership.  He can be contacted with comments, suggestions, or more information at craig@cdstevens.com.

I strongly encourage those interested in CEQA to check out the CEQA Portal and take advantage of the valuable resources it offers.
