The Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) announced that private employers that are interested in the Deductible, Individual-Retrospective-Rating or One Claim programs must file an application by January 31, 2020, for the program year beginning July 1, 2020. In addition, private employers that wish to partake in the Policy Activity Rebate (PAR) Program must apply by January 31, 2020, for the policy year that began July 2019.

Through the Deductible Program, employers can lower their premiums by offering an upfront premium discount in the form of a per-claim deductible. The Individual-Retrospective-Rating Program allows employers to earn a premium discount by assuming a greater portion of the risk upfront. The One Claim Program limits the impact of a significant claim upon employers that otherwise have minimal claims. The PAR Program is a customizable plan that allows employers to complete activities, earn associated credits and receive a rebate. Private employers must complete the required activities by May 31, 2020.
