Arkansas Code § 22-9-203(j)(1) and (2) concerning the award procedure for public improvements would be amended.

The principal amendment to (j)(1) is the addition of the phrases “water system, or consolidated waterworks system” which would be added to the entities that could enter into joint contracts with private persons, firms, associations, etc.

Paragraph (j)(2) would be amended by the addition of the word “asset” to the provision indicating that contracts could include provisions for design, financing, construction, etc.

Representative Fredrick J. Love (Little Rock) is the lead sponsor.

The bill has been referred to the House Committee on City, County & Local Affairs.
