The Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (“ADEQ”) published a Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”) for design professional services involving abandoned mine land reclamation. See DBA RFQ #930-RFQ-1901.

The personnel being sought are described as environmental engineering consultants that would perform environmental engineering related consulting services associated with the reclamation of abandoned mine lands in Arkansas.

ADEQ states in relevant part that:

The Surface Mining and Reclamation (SMR) of the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality – Office of Land Resources (ADEQ), Mining program is soliciting responses from qualified engineering firms to provide all services necessary to develop and prepare for bidding projects to reclaim abandoned surface coal mines within the State of Arkansas.

The contract is described as being “on-call.” Further, the projects are stated to require experience in the:

. . . production of topographic mapping, including aerial and ground survey, designing large scale civil site grading and hydrology with an emphasis on mine site reclamation design.

Statement of Qualifications are due to ADEQ by 2:00 p.m. March 15th.
