This is an analysis of an asbestos wrongful death case where the claim was defeated because the defendant non-California corporate entity had dissolved. The court of appeal held that although California law contains a provision permitting suit to be brought against dissolved corporations, that provision did not apply to a corporation formed under the law of another state. As the law of the state of the corporation's formation did contain a 'corproate dissolution statute of limitations,' that limitation applied to bar the plaintiffs' claim.
