The Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) held a special meeting on Monday, May 6, 2019, to consider the appointment of a new Administrator. Chairman Donald Tracy, Member Steven Dolins and Member Ruben Ramirez Jr. attended in person. Member Dee Robinson participated by telephone.
Getting right to the business at hand, the Board opened the meeting by moving to approve (4-0) Marcus D. Fruchter as Administrator effective May 16, 2019. Administrator Fruchter has extensive litigation experience. He was formerly an attorney at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and has worked at a number of law firms. All Board Members welcomed Administrator Fruchter.
In response to questions from the press, Chairman Tracy stated that Administrator Fruchter was recommended by the Governor’s office, interviewed by all four Board Members and thoroughly vetted by the IGB’s Investigations Department.
The meeting continued with a special acknowledgement for Agostino Lorenzini, who had simultaneously held the roles of Acting Administrator and General Counsel.
We, too, express our appreciation to Mr. Lorenzini and wish him continued success as he continues in his role as General Counsel for the IGB.
