The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has unleashed an alphabet of auditors to identify overpayments. These auditors are armed with the authority to conduct pre-payment reviews, and post-payment audits, as well as statistical sampling and extrapolation.

Health lawyers Paul Kim and Emily Wein presented an hour-long webinar to provide general counsel the tools to navigate this area. Paul and Emily not only profiled each type of auditor but also outlined the five-step Medicare claims appeal process, which is the singular procedure for contesting the findings of the auditors.
