On Wednesday, October 3, 2012, Milwaukee Police Department officers responded to a 911 call relating to Brandon Johnson, due to concerns family members had relating to some potential mental health issues. The officers took Mr. Johnson, a seemingly physically healthy 25-year old, to the Milwaukee County Mental Health Complex for evaluation. By Saturday, October 6, 2012, Mr. Johnson was deceased. Information released by the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office reflects that Mr. Johnson suffered a fractured neck, and blood clots which traveled to his lung, resulting in a pulmonary embolism, and resulting in his death.
Now, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services' Division of Quality Assurance, the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office, the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, the Milwaukee Police Department, along with some other agencies, are investigating the death of Mr. Johnson, who is the fifth person to die this year at the Milwaukee County Mental Health Complex.
