The Beautiful Buffalo river Action Committee will hold its 2018 third quarter meeting at the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (“ADEQ”) on August 21st.

The meeting will be held at ADEQ Headquarters Commission Room at 5301 Northshore Drive, North Little Rock.

The Committee was established by Governor Hutchinson in 2016 in order to develop an Arkansas-led, non-regulatory approach to identify opportunities to protect and maintain water quality in the Buffalo River Watershed.

The state agencies which comprise the Committee include:

• ADEQ
• Arkansas Department of Health
• Arkansas Agriculture Department
• Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism
• Arkansas Natural Resources Commission

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and Arkansas Geographic Information Systems Office are identified as supporting partners.

Agenda items are stated to include:

• Presentation on the Illinois River Watershed Management Plan by Dr. Nicole Hardiman, Executive Director of the Illinois River Partnership
• Presentation on the History of Filamentous Algae in the Buffalo National River by ADEQ Ecologist Coordinator Tate Wentz

The meeting will begin at 2:00 p.m.
