On August 10, 2012, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) proposed amendments to the regulations in the Truth in Lending Act (Regulation Z) and in the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (Regulation X) in an effort to increase accountability and transparency in the mortgage servicing industry.
