City of Pensacola Services Disrupted by Cyberattack

Adding to the list of many other municipalities, the city of Pensacola, Florida, was hit with a cyberattack last weekend that affected services to residents, including emergency telephone assistance. Although Pensacola is recovering, some services are still down, including online bill paying. The city of Pensacola is requesting residents to pay using other methods, including by check and is waiving certain penalties for late payment.

Pensacola experienced a ransomware attack in 2019, which emphasizes that municipalities continue to be targeted by threat actors, and they just don’t care if you have already been hit.
