If you haven’t been closely monitoring developments in the FCC’s review of the Comcast – Time Warner Cable – Charter merger and spin-off transactions, then you may have missed some critical announcements. The FCC’s review of the transactions provides a unique opportunity for local governments to raise concerns (even if the merger is not subject to review at the local level) and seek conditions, such as ones to protect PEG, and to ensure Comcast does not abuse its control over the “last mile” broadband connection to the home.
