On June 13, the Iowa Legislature passed and on June 25 Governor Reynolds signed SF457 implementing several changes to Iowa State Court filing and services fees that will take effect on July 15.  The complete list of changes is in the table below. Some fees were eliminated, and many were increased by $10.

Additionally, the bill concerns surcharges for criminal penalties, court funds, and misdemeanor and felony fines.

Among the many notable changes, the bill is expected to add $6 million to the Court Technology Fund and boost the ability of Iowa courts to hold virtual proceedings as necessitated by COVID-19.
