Romney Helps GOP Look for New Path on Climate Change -

"But a group of Republicans -- Romney and Sens. Lamar Alexander and Lindsey Graham, who worked with Democrats in 2009 and 2010 to cap carbon emissions, as well as others -- have taken it upon themselves to come up with market-based approaches to addressing climate change."

Why this is important: A majority of the American public accepts the dangers of climate change, and they want someone to do something about it--at least if it doesn't cost them any money. Some senators, Republican and Democrat, have acknowledged that wide-but-thin support by calling for a response to climate change based not on carbon taxes, but funding of further research into technological breakthroughs, which would reduce the carbon-intensity of power generation....
