Custody and Children with Special Needs in Pennsylvania

Families with children with special needs present unique legal issues in custody, divorce and support cases. Uninformed decisions can have severe negative effects upon family law clients - both financially and in terms of quality of life. Young Law Offices, in Pennsylvania, concentrates in the presentation of these issues in domestic relations and education law. This article, from a series created for domestic relations lawyers, focuses on the entitlements system serving children with special needs which effect custody decisions in Pennsylvania. Its purpose, like the rest of the series, is to allow family lawyers to educate themselves, their clients - and the courts - about the different factors influencing best interests of the children and parents, and to avoid costly mistakes.
