The drivers of a Sacramento County transit bus and a big rig were seriously injured in a Sacramento auto accident and San Joaquin County auto accident that occurred on State Route 12 near Isleton around 4:40 p.m. on Monday. According to the California Highway Patrol, the big rig was headed west bound at an unknown rate of speed when it encountered traffic, attempted to slow down and jackknifed. Thetransit bus, which was not carrying passengers, was traveling east bound when it collided with the out of control big rig. The driver of the bus was transported by life flight to the U.C. Davis Medical Center and the big rig driver was taken to John Muir hospital in the Bay Area, both with major injuries.
This California auto collision also involved a red Chevy Blazer which swerved and went down an embankment to avoid the collision. Reports indicated that the occupants of the Blazer were not seriously injured.
