The Association of State and Territorial Solid Waste Management Officials (“ASTSWMO”) published fact sheets for three what it describes as:

Emerging Wastes from Renewable Energy Sources

The three wastes include:

The lithium-ion battery fact sheet focuses particularly on electric vehicle batteries.

The fact sheets were developed by the Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Task Force within the ASTSWMO Hazardous Waste Subcommittee and the Sustainable Materials Management Task Force within the ASTSWMO Materials Management Subcommittee.

ASTSWMO describes itself as an organization representing the 50 states, five territories, and the District of Columbia to enhance and promote effective state and territorial programs and to affect relevant national policies for waste and materials management, environmentally sustainable practices, and environmental restoration.
