Exchange – International Newsletter - Issue 23 – July 2014

DLA Piper’s Financial Services International Regulatory team welcomes you to the twenty-third edition of ‘Exchange – International’ – an international newsletter designed to keep you informed of regulatory developments in the financial services sector.

This issue includes INTERNATIONAL updates, as well as contributions from EUROPE, AUSTRIA, BELGIUM, the UAE, KUWAIT, the UK and the USA.

In particular, the Austrian section analyses the European Court of Justice judgement in Hirmann v Immofinanz relating to the principle of capital maintenance. The UK section reports on the new CBEST framework addressing cyber vulnerabilities which was launched by the Bank of England. We also cover the enhanced leverage standards for large banks in the US.

Our aim is to assist you in providing an overview of developments outside your own jurisdiction which may be of interest to you. In each issue we will also focus on a topic of wider international interest. In this edition, “In Focus” looks at the launch of the MiFID II/MiFIR consultation process.
