Federal 7th Circuit Upholds Verdict of Sexual Harassment

The plaintiff filed sex harassment and sex discrimination complaints under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and common law complaints of battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and assault against Citizens Bank and Trust of Chicago, bank officers and officials Robert Michael, George Michael, and Nicholas Tanglis.

The case proceeded to a jury trial and the jury found in favor of the plaintiff on the complaints of battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and assault against defendants Robert Michael, George Michael, Nicholas Tanglis and in favor of plaintiff and against the Bank on the complaints of sex discrimination and sexual harassment.

The jury awarded plaintiff $200,000 in compensatory damages and $100,000 in punitive damages against defendants Robert Michael, George Michael, and Nicholas Tanglis, and $200,000 judgment against Citizens Bank and Trust of Chicago.
