FHFA Director Watt outlines 2014 strategic plan for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

House in GlobeOn May 13, 2014, Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Director Mel Watt gave his first major policy speech regarding the future of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac since being sworn in on January 6, 2014. In his speech, Director Watt discussed the ongoing operations of FHFA and his vision of its role in serving as regulator and conservator of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He then outlined the three strategic goals for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac which are set out in FHFA’s 2014 Strategic Plan for the two GSEs which was released simultaneously with the speech.
