Banking Regulation Basel III -

The Bank for International Settlements’ Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (the Basel Committee) has published various consultation papers and reports on aspects of the Basel III regulatory framework. These include:

The regulatory framework: balancing risk sensitivity, simplicity and comparability - discussion paper -

This paper, published in July, discusses the reasons behind the evolution of the current Basel regulatory framework, and outlines the potential benefits and costs that arise from a more risk sensitive methodology. It discusses ideas that could possibly be explored to further reform the framework with the objective that it continues to strike an appropriate balance between complementary goals of risk sensitivity, simplicity and comparability.
