Fiscal Year 2015 H-1B Filings

A reminder that filings requesting an H-1B number for Fiscal Year 2015 (beginning October 1, 2014) can be submitted to USCIS starting April 1, 2014.  For the past several years, H-1B numbers – capped annually at 65,000 – have disappeared within days of the April 1st date – leaving employers and potential employees with few options.  Employers looking to hire new H-1B workers in the new fiscal year should begin the process now to put themselves in a position to file their new H-1B petitions on April 1, 2014.
