On February 5th President Obama spoke about alternatives to avoid the looming sequestration that takes effect on March 1, 2013. Obama emphasized the need for temporary measures and said reforms to social programs, such as Medicare and Medicaid, are likely, but he insisted these spending cuts must be met with reforms to the tax code.
