Health Care Reimbursement and Payor Dispute Update - August 2020

Introduction -

CMS has taken extensive measures to assist providers and promote access to care in light of the Public Health Emergency (PHE) related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The efforts taken have and continue to benefit providers and patients across the country, however, the influx of information and the pace at which CMS releases it can be overwhelming. As a result, Polsinelli has compiled a list of frequently asked questions and answers related to CMS waivers and flexibilities around reimbursement, coverage, and billing. Key topics include originating site fee, telehealth services, specimen collection and modifier use, among others. This guidance is current as of the date of this newsletter.
