HHS Renews Determination That Public Health Emergency Exists

Effective October 18, 2021, Xavier Becerra, the Secretary of Health and Human Services renewed the declaration of the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE) that was first declared on January 20, 2020.
 

The renewal of the PHE is effective for another 90 days, until January 16, 2022.  Existing CMS 1135 Waivers, dated as of October 7, 2021, will remain in effect for the duration of the declared PHE.
