We previously wrote (here) about the Fairness in Class Action Litigation Act of 2017 (H.R. 985), a bill recently proposed by U.S. Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va), which, if enacted, would dramatically change the landscape of federal class action litigation.  On March 9, 2017, the Republican-controlled House approved the bill by a vote of 220-201.  The next stop is the Senate, where the bill was received and referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee on March 13, 2017.  We will continue to monitor key developments.
