Impairment Ratings For Traumatic Brain Injury In Texas Workers' Compensation Claims


Texas workers' compensation law requires that impairment ratings be given using the AMA Guides To The Evaluation Of Permanent Impairment, 4th Edition. Many Texas injured workers are given little or no impairment rating for a traumatic brain injury. In many instances, the AMA Guides are simply not followed. This short paper explains how these impairment ratings are supposed to be determined.
