Join a panel of experts to discuss the future of Alternative Dispute Resolution in Georgia and the United States. Topics will include ADR systems design, neutral selection, evolving communication styles, emerging technologies, and large language models such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT series. This joint program of the University of Georgia School of Law and Miles Mediation & Arbitration will bring together professors, in-house counsel, and practicing neutrals for a wide-ranging and dynamic conversation. Please also join us for a cocktail reception following the program.

This program will provide 1.0 CLE hour for general and trial practice credit.

Gino Brogdon, Jr. headshot

Gino Brogdon, Jr., Neutral, Miles Mediation & Arbitration

Gino Brogdon, Jr. has handled hundreds of mediations at Miles Mediation and is a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals. He is skilled in engaging clients that are new to the mediation process and parties especially resistant to resolution. Whether in-person or virtually, Gino is adept in guiding the resolution process no matter the location of the parties. He specializes in personal injury, including complex automobile and trucking cases, premises liability, medical malpractice, wrongful death, nursing home, and business disputes.

Sara Hamilton, Associate General Counsel, Employment Litigation, UPS

Sara Hamilton is in-house with United Parcel Service, Inc. (UPS) where she enthusiastically combines her love of law, team building, and technology. At UPS, she oversees a diverse portfolio of employment litigation matters for UPS in nearly every state. In this role, Sara interacts with mediators, settlement judges, and counsel in a wide variety of cases at various stages. She serves on the board of the Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar Association (GAPABA) and Korean-American Bar Association of Georgia (KABA-GA).

Patricia M. "Trish" Murphy, Instructor, University of Georgia School of Law

Trish Murphy is an instructor at the University of Georgia School of Law, a Chatham County Assistant Juvenile Court Judge, and a Superior Court Hearing Officer. Previously, she was Director of Family Law Services at the Mediation Center of the Coastal Empire in Savannah, GA. Trish is a registered civil and domestic mediator and registered in specialized domestic violence. She is also a lead trainer with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution for civil and domestic mediation training. She is certified in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction from UMass Medical School and in Mindful Self-Compassion.

Moderator: Daniel Serviansky, Faculty Director, Graduate Program in ADR, University of Georgia School of Law

Daniel Serviansky is Faculty Director of the UGA School of Law's Graduate Program in Alternative Dispute Resolution, offering opportunities to specialize in ADR through the Master in the Study of Law degree, as well as through a graduate certificate. Before UGA, he taught at Columbia Law's Negotiation Workshop and worked in its Mediation Clinic. Daniel trains and coaches lawyers, mediators, physicians, bioethicists, educators, and entrepreneurs. He mediates cases ranging from interpersonal relationships to international business disputes, practicing in both Spanish and English. Previously, he worked in real estate, negotiating deals and resolving disputes on behalf of investors.

Tanya Tate, Neutral, Miles Mediation & Arbitration

A member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, Tanya Tate is a seasoned and highly effective mediator, having mediated hundreds of cases in her career, the majority of them disputes involving employment law and business-related matters. Prior to beginning her practice as a mediator and arbitrator thirteen years ago, Tanya represented both Plaintiffs and Defendants in a multitude of different cases involving employment law, restrictive covenants, trade secrets, contracts, torts, business litigation, insurance coverage, school law, premises liability, and personal injuries.

Stacey Hornsby Williams, Adjunct Professor of Law, University of Georgia School of Law

Stacey Hornsby Williams is an experienced mediator, arbitrator and trainer registered with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution since 2006. She currently serves as the Deputy Attorney General of Tobacco Enforcement for the Office of the NV Attorney General and is the former Director of the Lemon Law Administration for the Office of the GA Attorney General. Stacey is a past chair of the Dispute Resolution Section of the State Bar of Georgia. She joined the UGA School of Law as an adjunct professor in 2021. She is also a FINRA arbitrator and is a founding partner of ADR Atlanta.
