The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act from the U.S. Congress, signed into law November 15 by President Biden, provides $1.2 trillion to rebuild roads and bridges, water infrastructure, resilience, and internet, with a focus on infrastructure improvements and expansion of broadband networks.

The Biden Administration has established a website for the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that contains helpful links to programs and program descriptions. The Biden Administration has also published a “guidebook” to the act for state, local, and tribal leaders. The Administration describes the 450-page guidebook as a “roadmap to the funding available under the law, as well as an explanatory document that shows, in as much detail as currently available, program-by-program information.”

Finally, the Biden Administration has also made available a csv file containing information regarding the programs funded under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, including the category of programs (e.g., airports, broadband, roads), the program name, the applicable agency and bureau, the funding amount, the funding mechanism, and whether it is a new or expanded program.

Given the size of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the breadth of programs that it creates, funds, or expands, it can be difficult to identify the specific resources and opportunities that will be available. The resources referenced above can be a helpful tool in identifying potential funding and grant opportunities.
