Unfortunately, one Alabama driver does not appear to have implemented such caution yesterday morning, and as a result a jogger was killed in a car accident. Reportedly, while troopers are still investigating the accident, low visibility is being cited as a possible factor in the pedestrian accident that happed shortly after 6 a.m. yesterday on Sharps Cove Road in Madison County.

The victim was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital in critical condition. Tragically, she could not overcome her injuries and passed away shortly after arrival at the hospital. The female victim's identity has not yet been released by authorities.

As this accident was so recent and investigation is still pending, there is no word yet regarding any citations for the operator of the vehicle that struck the jogger.

In situations of similar circumstances, if the driver is found to be negligent, the family of the victim can choose to file a wrongful death claim. If successful, the family could be awarded remuneration for the funeral and burial expenses of the victim. In addition, while no amount of money will bring back the victim, family members could receive monetary compensation for their emotional pain and suffering as a result of their tragic loss.

Our thoughts go out the family and friends of this victim during this difficult time.
