  • Nineteen Republican AGs filed a petition for review in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit over an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) final action that granted two California Air Resource Board requests for waivers of Clean Air Act preemption for regulations of heavy-duty on-road vehicles and engines.
  • According to the petition, the regulations would effectively require all buses, vans, trucks, and tractor-trailers to be electric by 2035; increase costs and cut jobs within the trucking industry; and significantly decrease the demand for liquid fuels such as biodiesel.
  • The AGs ask the D.C. Circuit to review the EPA’s final action granting the California regulations.
