Legal/Regulatory Developments Are Changing the Economic Landscape of Trucking


Changes to U.S. laws, primarily changes to FMCSA, EPA and NHTSA regulations, are “driving” up the cost of conducting the business of trucking and forever changing the economic landscape of trucking. The regulatory changes seem to be tipping the scales to the advantage of larger carriers, which may lead to substantial further consolidation of the industry.
