The most recent news about Dewey & LeBoeuf teaches us that the internal memo can't be contained to the walls of a law firm. Several high profile media outlets wrote stories based on an internal memo that disclosed important information about the future of the law firm. Internal memos need to be treated like news releases as most often, they will end up in the hands of the media.
