Lilly Ledbetter, an equal pay advocate and inspiration for the Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act of 2009, and OFCCP Director Patricia Shiu will appear as guests on The Proactive Employer, hosted by Stephanie R. Thomas, Ph.D.

Lilly Ledbetter, who famously sued her employer for pay discrimination and who inspired the first piece of legislation President Obama signed into law, and Director of the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs Patricia Shiu will be appearing as guests on upcoming episodes of The Proactive Employer radio program on the VoiceAmerica Business Channel.

Ms. Ledbetter will join Stephanie R. Thomas, Ph.D., host of The Proactive Employer, on Thursday, May 10 at 12 Noon Pacific / 3 PM Eastern to discuss her experiences with compensation discrimination, her new book, Grace and Grit: My Fight For Equal Pay and Fairness At Goodyear and Beyond, her landmark lawsuit, and the Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act of 2009 she inspired. The show will also feature discussion on some proposed regulations aimed at eliminating compensation discrimination, and what Ms. Ledbetter sees as the critical steps needed to eliminate compensation discrimination and address the gender pay gap.

On Thursday, May 17 OFCCP Director Patricia Shiu will join The Proactive Employer to discuss the Department of Labor's strategic goal of "Good Jobs For Everyone", and how her Agency is working toward that goal. The show will feature discussion on OFCCP's proposed regulatory changes with respect to compensation, sex discrimination, employment of veterans and individuals with disabilities, and OFCCP's new investigation methodology - reliance on "broad Title VII principles."

The Proactive Employer airs live on Thursdays at 12 Noon Pacific / 3 PM Eastern on the VoiceAmerica Business Channel. Archived shows are available through the VoiceAmerica website, iTunes and The Proactive Employer website.
