Make Your Legal Opinion Count - Write Opinion Editorials

A valuable yet underutilized public relations tool is the Opinion-Editorial (op-ed). An op-ed is a form of writing that is used to express a personal opinion. It is an extremely powerful way to publish your opinion, gain media attention, and to demonstrate your depth of knowledge on a particular topic. In this way, you are positioned as a thought leader in your legal practice area. As lawyers, we are bound to the codes of conduct that apply to your states. Be careful not to comment on pending cases without first consulting the codes that address trial publicity.
