This action was filed in State court (CT) alleging various federal and state constitutional and statutory violations relating to an illegal search and seizure of firearms by the Town of Groton Police. The Defendants removed the case to federal court on account of the federal civil rights allegations (violations of the 4th, 5th, and 14th Amendments and 42 USC § 1983). However, given the predominance of State law claims, including many novel issues that have not been decided in a Connecticut court, the Plaintiffs moved to remand the case to state court.
