Most Elderly People Fear Nursing Home Abuse

About three fourths of elderly individuals fear being put into a nursing home due to their fear of being abused and/or neglected. Basically, the elderly fear being treated poorly. There have been several investigations that show that, indeed, many nursing homes are guilty of taking poor care of their residents. According to Populus Data Solutions' survey of 2,000 adults, the words most commonly associated with nursing homes are isolation, boredom, illness and abuse.
