This Week
Lawmakers adjourned the 2017 long session of the North Carolina General Assembly shortly after 2:00AM Friday morning. The Adjournment Resolution passed by both bodies would reconvene the legislature on August 3rd, September 6th, and potentially on November 15th for various reasons. When lawmakers reconvene on August 3rd, they are likely to address any vetoes from the Governor. Several unresolved Conference Reports will likely be addressed as well. The resolution also included a self-imposed deadline to reconvene on November 15th if necessary, to redraw legislative districts, if the courts have not mandated them to do so.
