Netherlands: first foreign provider announces its intention to enter the Dutch online gambling market


Yesterday, the German online lotteries provider Tipp24 notified its intention to enter the Dutch market  and to comply to the proposed Remote Gambling Ac. This means that Tipp24 is willing to donate 40% of its revenue in the Netherlands to charitable causes, if this obligation will become part of the new legislation. Tipp24 is the first foreign provider publically presenting its wish to enter the Dutch market and to comply with the proposes legislation.

The text of the proposed Dutch Remote Gambling Act – although not final – was notified to the European Commission last week. The expectation is that new legislation will enter into effect on 1 January 2015.
