Is your California real estate license set to expire during the period between June 15, 2020, through August 14, 2020, and you need an extension to submit your renewal application and fee and complete any continuing education requirements? Or did your California real estate license expire during the period between April 16, 2020, through June 14, 2020, and you need an additional extension to submit your renewal application and fee and complete any continuing education requirements?

On June 15, 2020, Governor Newsom signed Executive Order N-69-20, which impacts the license renewal deadlines for licenses that have or are set to expire between April 16, 2020, through August 14, 2020.

If your license has or is set to expire during the period of June 15, 2020, through August 14, 2020, under Executive Order N-69-20, you have a 60-day extension to submit your renewal application and fee and complete any continuing education requirements.

If your license expired between April 16, 2020, and June 14, 2020, under Executive Order N-69-20, you have an additional 60-day extension, in addition to the first 60-day extension provided for in Executive Order N-52-20, to submit your renewal application and fee and complete any continuing education requirements.

You are not required to request an extension, as the Department of Real Estate is in the process of identifying those licenses whose expiration dates fall within the 60-day periods identified in the Executive Order. Please note that this extension only impacts the application period and not your expiration date, as the extension does not extend the term of a California real estate license.
