New Opportunities Brewing for Alabama Craft Brewers?

The Alabama Brewers Guild has drafted a bill that would create a special craft brewers license enabling small breweries to operate an on-site restaurant and sell their beer for on- and off-site consumption.

The license would only apply to breweries producing less than 2 million barrels a year. Currently, brewpubs in Alabama are limited to producing 10,000 barrels a year.

States are starting to realize craft breweries across the country are having a positive transformative effect on communities. Alabama House Bill 96 is yet another example of significant alcohol regulatory reform, a trend that is picking up pace throughout the United States.
