Beginning Monday, March 11, 2013, there will be new security procedures for people entering the Milwaukee County Courthouse. People will have to remove their shoes and belts, and show security guards their waistband. The new security measures are in response to a security test where an undercover, plainclothes Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department Deputy was able to get a gun past all of the courthouse security checkpoints. Milwaukee County Clerk Joseph Czarnezki recommends that people arrive at the courthouse 30 minutes before their appointment due to the long lines that will result from the new security procedures. To learn more about the new courthouse security measures, please see the report at the WISN-TV website here.
