Objections to Proposed Final Order and Final Judgment


Google entered into a settlement of a consumer class action over privacy violations resulting from its launch of Google Buzz. Class member objectors now object to proposed order that would distribute cy pres fund from class action settlement to organizations that Google already funds or is affiliated with. The proposed distribution ignores the most important privacy organizations in the country--most likely because Google does not want to fund them and it exerted undue influence over the selection of cy pres nominees by Class Counsel.
